I'm going to make this short. This book seems like it was written by a college student doing a research project about the history of body image. I had to buy this for an Honors course, and I can tell you that any one of the half dozen students in that class could give a better explanation of how the human body has been viewed, used, and abused throughout history than the author of this book. Many passages are redundant, while others are wordy for the sake of filling up more pages. Unless you absolutely need to buy this, I strongly recommend that you don't. And for any professors out there who are thinking of using this book for their class, look elsewhere, because your students will hate you for this.
