The Sannyasi chronicles the voyages of the soul, which others call reincarnations, a perpetual story unfolding in three cycles or three lives - three islands situated in this country or another, seemingly in India, by Egypt, and Norway's frozen lakes, are also present. The protagonist, Nil, ever in search of something else - a new human condition on earth, free of the Machine and of the laws of the mind - has burned all the bridges to find it. He has given up all worldly pursuits to become a mendicant sannyasi, emerging into a vaster, cosmic consciousness and new perceptions, ultimately to realize that he may have gained the freedom of the summits but has lost the earth.
