This was a direct fit and required no reprogramming. The part was changed and is running smoothly. It's probably the best value for the money as it's new not remanufactured like some of the cheaper ones. If you do have to reprogram your replacement, then you can turn your ignition all the way to the ON position, slowly accelerate to the floor over the course of 15 seconds and then reverse back out for 15 seconds, or disconnect the battery for 1 hour. After running turn off wait and then turn back on. If you get the lightning bolt indicator on your dashboard chances are this is the issue. Just Google it and you will see that it is a weak point. In my case I started having stuttering and weird acceleration in the beginning. I took apart the old part and discovered oil inside the electronics and gears, but the plastic gears inside were okay and I decided to keep it all for a spare parts.
