This book goes way beyond a typical fitness book. It is broken into three sections -- mindset, moves, and meals – that are all woven together into a detailed 4-week plan that is really easy to follow.The book starts off focusing on your mindset. Specifically your attitude and willpower and building the motivation to get healthy. It has thought-provoking insights about the mind-body connection and how underlying beliefs and “noise” can keep you from succeeding. It has worksheets and activities that got me thinking with more clarity about what’s really important in life.Then it shifts into full-blown fitness and an action plan focusing on moves (workouts) and meals. Joel Harper is Dr. Oz’s trainer and I’ve seen him on TV and it was fun to think that I’m doing the same exercises that Dr. Oz does. That’s a nice bonus from this book if you are a Dr. Oz fan.Pros:- Explains how many fitness plans don’t work because you focus on the body and not the mind and that you need to focus on both- Easy to follow detailed 4 week plan with a different meditation/workout/meal for each day to keep it interesting (I just started it, but so far so good)- Worksheets and activities that got me thinking about what’s important.These actually changed my mood and made me want to get up and do the workouts and commit to the 4-week plan- 70 pages of workouts with photos. The workouts are 15 minutes long and don’t require any equipment (I am doing them at home)- 45 pages of recipesCons- The recipes do not have photosOverall, I really like the focus on being healthy AND happy and I am recommending this book to my friends.
